Our Mission

Lead Teacher & The Art Cabin Founder

Ekaterina Kennedy

Ekaterina is a visual artist, educator, and founder of The Art Cabin. Born and raised in Russia, she studied Fine Arts and received a strong formal education in traditional art-making. While this gave her a deep foundation in skill, observation, and technique, her own teaching approach has grown into something more open, joyful, and encouraging.

The idea for The Art Cabin began with simple art play-dates for her son when he was five years old. Ekaterina wanted to create a space where children could learn basic art skills, notice creativity in everyday life, and express themselves freely through colour, shape, and form. Interest grew quickly, and what began as a small community activity soon developed into a growing art school for local families.

Having travelled widely and worked with children in several countries, including Denmark, Spain, and Russia, Ekaterina brings a broad and thoughtful perspective to art education. Her experience as an au pair, English teacher, and private tutor helped shape a teaching style that is structured yet playful, supportive yet creatively freeing.

Ekaterina believes that art can have a powerful impact on confidence, wellbeing, and self-expression. Her goal is to make art feel accessible and achievable for both children and adults, creating a warm environment where students feel encouraged to experiment, learn new skills, and take pride in their creative progress.
